Grammar & Conversation

Our Conversation programs offer group classes or private individual lessons that integrate English and ESL instruction with daily life. Special programs include preparation for business English, and oral presentation for professionals, accent reduction classes, and cultural immersion courses. Cultural issues will be covered, as well as the differences between US and British English, how to use small talk effectively, different ways of addressing business contacts and, of course, business etiquette. Additionally, assistance will be provided for correct pronunciation and intonation to make your business appearance especially polished and professional.
 

Duration – 30 Hours/Level (9 Levels)

Grammar & Writing

The goal of Writing is to enable students to read and respond to academic texts written in English. Students are asked to read, evaluate, and respond to fairly difficult texts ranging from narratives to essays. Throughout the session, students should become familiar with the wide range of rhetorical options available--narration, classification, and argument. The program is structured so that students have the opportunity to interact with texts on multiple levels while working with a range grammatical structures and new vocabulary. Since this is a holistic class, students will also be encouraged to read aloud, have debates, and present their own understanding of a reading.
